            Weatherization Assistance Program

This program assists homeowners in both maintaining and increasing their assets. The Weatherization Assistance Program provides for the installation of home weatherization measures for low-income homeowners in an effort to conserve energy and lower energy bills for those homeowners.  This helps to maintain the equity in the home  by making the home more livable and economical to live in.  It also increases assets by lowering the energy bills.  Saving money on energy bills can assist a family in becoming more self-sufficient as they use those savings for other household budget items such as food and clothing, or to open a savings account (or IDA)  For more information about weatherization, call 301-533-9018 or 301-334-9431, Ext. 6000.
